It’s almost–scratch that–it is a chore. Washing long hair, short hair, blonde hair, brown hair is no joke.
If you’re anything like me, then you probably don’t know much about the mane on your head. That’s why we’re going back to the basics, with the help of my cousin and NYC colorist Cherise Wilson.
Cherise’s top 3 shampoo and conditioner sets
For those looking for a bargain, this shampoo and conditioner set is available at most drug stores, and for under $7 each, it’s a steal of a deal. John Frieda’s luxurious volume touchably full shampoo will pump your hair with extra life. It is formulated with Caffeine Vitality Complex to help add volume and softness.
This comes in at number two as an affordable option, but you won’t be able to find it at the grocery store. This brand is a first in the industry; it’s removed sulfates, silicones, thickening ingredients, conditioning agents and pearlizing ingredients–all of which can leave build up, block follicles and impede new hair growth. At $9 for 75ml, it’s worth it to test the water, and see if it’s worth totally diving in for.
Those looking to splurge, meet your new best friend. For $38, you get 8.33 fl oz, but it’s highly concentrated in plant oils and it’s full of vitamins that will keep your highlights shining and prevent natural oxidation.
